1. When planting seed, use sterile soil-less potting mix to fill seed flats. 2. Sow seed at recommended depth and cover with plastic to retain humidity. Uncover when germination occurs. 3. Keep in an area where temperature can be maintained at 70-72° for optimal growth. 4. Bottom heat from a high intensity lamp will aid germination. 5. Once germination has occured, reduce temperatures to 68-70°F. 6. Indirect light from an east window will provide ample light for the first eight hours of the day, but either a gro-lux lamp or florescent light should provide the remaining 6-8 hours of light daily or use the above artificial lights for the entire 14-16 hours daily. Remember plants will turn towards the light so they should be rotated periodically. 7. Keep the artificial lights 2" above the tops of the plants for healthiest growth. 8. Water seeds thoroughly upon planting, then use spray bottle or mister to moisten the soil daily after seedlings emerge. 9. Transplant seedlings after they have developed their second set of true leaves. |
